Tanasugarn Acknowledges Queensland Flood Victims

In her first-round match against 2008 Champion Maria Sharapova, Tamarine Tanasugarn of Thailand brought a message with her onto the court of Rod Laver Arena. On her arm bandage she had written QLD + VIC, paying homage to the victims of the Queensland flood.
Sharapova defeated Tanasugarn 6-1, 6-3.
