A few teams had already clinched their Davis Cup ties yesterday. Today for some, it was do or don’t.
In terms of Davis Cup, 5-0 is domination, 4-1 is a triumph, but 3-2? That calls for some of this:
Andrey Golubev (above) upset world No.7 Tomas Berdych 7-5, 5-7, 6-4, 6-2 in the fourth rubber of the [...]

Viktor Troicki was Serbia’s hero (again!) in the Davis Cup World Group first round today, clinching the tie for the Serbs over India as he defeated Somdev Devvarman 6-4, 6-2, 7-5. All of Serbia can now breathe a sigh of relief. They’ll face Sweden in the Quarterfinals.

Call it what it is – Davis Cup drama. And the theatrics weren’t lacking today, that’s for sure.
A pained David Nalbandian defeated Romania’s Adrian Ungur 6-3, 6-2, 5-7, 6-4. With a hernia and an adductor injury, Nalbandian cried after a tremendous effort, which earned his team a 1-0 lead and earned him a standing ovation from [...]

From Bolton to Boras, Davis Cup teams were in action on the practice courts and at the draws. Here are some more funny candid shots:
The Brits look to be practicing very well for the WorldDavis Cup. Hey Jamie, Becks wants his kick back.
Looks like Ivo lost in a round of musical chairs.
Nole’s on Facebook now [...]

The Spain vs. Belgium Davis Cup draw took place today, which meant more funny candid pictures!
Fernando: What topping did you get on your Belgian waffle yesterday?
Rafa: You know we’re going to win, no?
Fernando: Call me!

Could it be?
It’s true! It’s Marat! And he’s helping the Russian Davis Cup Team practice, in Boras, Sweden where they’ll face the Swedes this weekend in the World Group First Round.
Now you tell me, which team would you rather be on: This one?
Or this one….
No brainer.

Photos can often be like works of Renaissance art, laden with symbolism. Take the below pictures, for example. The American, Spanish and French Davis Cup Teams attended press conferences in their respective cities today. Just like Leonardo da Vinci’s The Last Supper, lets dive into the deeper meanings of these photos:
Andy Roddick: Still upset that [...]

I took a flight out of the Vienna International Airport last summer. Nice place, great shops, with a long line for passport check. Not once did I look around past the food court and think, “this would be a great place for a tennis court.” But alas, next weekend Austria will face France on a [...]

All proceeds will go toward the efforts in helping the city of Kraljevo, which experienced [...]

My excellent translation skills of the Serbian language (and cartoons) tells me this is what’s happening in the above cartoon strip from Serbia’s newspaper, Blic.
First, the character resembling Novak Djokovic is asking “where’s the cup?” Then, off to the right, a very muscular man is saying “it was hard but I failed in the end” [...]
