It was a swanky affair in Monaco Saturday night to celebrate the launch of the ATP Monte Carlo Rolex Masters. Many of the top men were in attendance on the red carpet as they arrived at the Grimaldi Forum. No, Julien Benneteau and his date aren’t laughing at Tomas Berdych and girlfriend Ester Satorova, but the two pairs definitely win for “cutest couples.” The “best smile?” David Ferrer, for sure, while Pablo Andujar gets the award for “best shave.”
Sometimes you need the company of three and the “best trios” were Jonas Bjorkman and Robert Lindstedt (with a lady friend) and Aisam Qureshi and Rohan Bopanna (also with a lady friend).
The “too cool for the red carpet” awards go to Marin Cilic, having a laugh with Andreas Seppi, and Fabio Fognini, of course.
Sometimes plaid is not so bad. The awards for “best checkered shirts” go to Kevin Anderson (with his wife) and Evgeny Donskoy.
There was a boy band in attendance! Actually that’s just Monaco’s Davis Cup team. Yes, they have one. So they get the award for “most boy bandy.”
I don’t like to criticize. So I won’t. The awards for “best interesting fashion choices” go to Alex Dolgopolov (velvet blazer?) and Max Mirnyi (cool shirt).
Milos Raonic and his coach, Ivan Ljubicic, win for “best dressed.” Go team.
Last but not least, Stephane Robert gets the award for just being “best.”
