Navratilova Attends NASCAR Coca-Cola 600

Today in Charlotte, North Carolina, tennis legend Martina Navratilova joined NASCAR’s Jeff Gordon (and 1,000 volunteers) to pack meals for low-income seniors at the Charlotte Convention Center as part of Drive to End Hunger. The goal for the two-day event, organized by the AARP Foundation, is to pack one million meals in Charlotte for food banks by the end of the day Friday.

“When most Americans think of hunger, they think of Africa or China, or places that are war-torn. But people are going hungry here and it’s getting worse as the economy is down and the middle class is shrinking. There is no reason for Americans to go hungry,” Navratilova said.

After her day helping hungry seniors, Martina visited the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Coca-Cola 600 and hung out with Danica Patrick and her friend Jeff at the Charlotte Motor Speedway.
