Ivan Ljubicic will soon say so long to tennis as he plans to play his last match at the Monte Carlo Masters later this month. In last week’s Gloria magazine, he talks about retirement, romance with his wife and more.
On when he decided to end his career: “I made a final decision in early March in Dubai. I woke up about four in the morning and said – enough is enough.”
On how his wife reacted: “My wife Aida suggested that I still think about it, but for me it was a done deal and she accepted.”
On romance with his wife: “When I was 19 and flew to America, I wrote her a 28-page letter. To be honest, I don’t remember what I wrote in it… I thought it was gone, but well, during this interview I learned that all these years, it was kept in an old apartment.”
