Defending Fed Cup champions Czech Republic (above) will face Team Serbia (below) in the Fed Cup final, scheduled for November 3rd and 4th later this year.
Petra Kvitova defeated Francesca Schiavone 6-4, 7-6 to put Czech Republic into the Fed Cup final for the second straight year. “It’s an unbelievable feeling. I really wanted to be in the final again,” Kvitova said.
In Moscow, Jelena Jankovic put Serbia into the final for the first time with her 6-1, 6-4 win over Russia’s Svetlana Kuznetsova. “I’m very happy to win the deciding point for my country. It’s the first time that Serbia have made the Fed Cup final and I’m proud to be a player in this team,” she said.
