Looking at this picture, you would think Venus Williams just defeated Aggie Radwanska at the Sony Ericsson Open. Nope.
Venus’ victorious return to the Tour stopped when Radwanska defeated her 6-4, 6-1. Did Venus lose the match? Sure. But after months away from competitive play, her result this week was nothing to be upset about. Venus entered Miami as a wildcard with a ranking of 134. She’ll now move back into the top 100 after reaching the quarterfinals. Quarterfinals! And smiling so wide as she left the court – in defeat. That’s a win.
