The last trophy of 2011 deservedly went to Novak Djokovic. The top seed defeated David Ferrer 6-2, 6-1 to win the Mubadala Abu Dhabi Tennis Championship exhibition in Abu Dhabi. I’m curious if his $250,000 prize is counted toward his record 2011 prize money or starts off his 2012.
Next up? His title defense at the Australian Open. “I think the crucial couple of weeks is now, for me to prepare for Australia. We’ll see. It’s a long year and a difficult task, but I’m looking forward to it,” he said.
