Venus Attends Aspire4Sport Q&A In Doha

Venus Williams was all smiles today in Doha for the Aspire4Sport conference. Today she attended a Q&A session with former tennis pro Andrew Castle, where the audience found out Venus has changed her diet since being diagnosed with an autoimmune disease this year.

As for tennis, Venus said: “I love the game. The racket feels right in my hand and I’m planning on going right back to where I was at the top of the rankings in the singles and doubles sometime within the next 12 months.”

Venus looks healthy and wonderful – it’s great to see her looking like this after what she has been going through. I hope she’ll be ready to play the Aussie Open in January.

Venus return to the game is the most exciting news the women’s game has had for a LONG while. True, she isn’t and won’t be the formidable foe that was in her prime, but her worth isn’t measured by how many titles she can steal in this twilight of her career. She is one of the most personable, regal and dedicated women to ever play the game. We won’t even mention the fact that she helped change the game. Thanks for coming back, Venus; you’re my idol.
