Since I was in New Haven this past weekend, I didn’t have a chance to write any thoughts on the finals from Cincinnati. Much to my delight, my 90-year-old Grandpa sent me an email this afternoon with his thoughts. Disclaimer: The below does not reflect the opinions of The Slice. Hi to my tennis buffs!!!!!!!!
This past weekend was a rather disappointing one for me.
Federer was beaten–my favorite– Djokovic withdrew from the finals-
and Sharapova beat Jankovic—whom I like,
I watched the entire match and frankly, was quite disappointed.
They did not perform like champions. Both played rather sloppily
and I found myself taking imaginary shots for Jankovic.
Would be interested in your opinions.
Can’t wait for the US Open on August 29th.
Hopefully, we shall see some “good” tennis.
