I dare you to find a sweeter picture than this – unbeaten in 2011 world no.2 Novak Djokovic, embraced by his family after winning his 27th consecutive match and the title at his home country’s tournament. Djokovic defeated Feliciano Lopez 7-6, 6-2, for his fifth title of the year (Australian Open, Dubai, Indian Wells and Miami).
The Serb now has his sight set on the world no.1 ranking (a trophy hoist at Roland Garros wouldn’t be too shabby either).
“I need to stay healthy and I need to stay fit in order to play well. The winning streak is something I don’t really think about,” Djokovic said. “I know I need to do more and if I ever get to that number one in the world it would be a dream come true for me, because it’s been the ambition of my career.”
