Don’t be confused by the picture of Vera Zvonareva blow-drying her hair in a bathtub – she’s only getting ready for the Sydney players party, which took place at The Westin Hotel in Martin Place. Most of the ladies got dressed up, while some dressed down, but all looked happy and excited for the week to start!

S. Williams: The past few days she has been in hat mode: She has been in all the foregrounds and I was in the background. She loves to shop so I was a little disappointed.
Q: So she is going to bring back a bunch of hats. What do you take back…
