I know Fernando Verdasco basically got crushed in his match by Gilles Simon (lost 6-1, 6-3 in just 57 minutes) but come on.
Clearly the focus of this picture (and no, I didn’t crop it) is the stand of yellow bananas, marked “Platano de Canarias.” Maybe the photographer felt he needed to tell this story – a stand of numerous bananas from the Canary Islands, neglected by elite tennis players.
Ok, that’s a stretch. Maybe the truth behind this story is the photographer was was hungry, spotted the fruit, was bored so he took a picture and decided to kill time counting the bananas.
Yup, that sounds more like it.
