Today we visited the grounds of the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center to take in some Qualifying rounds (in person!) and pros’ practice session. First thing we did upon entering was go to Louis Armstrong Stadium. What seemed like a buzz in the air turned out to be the biggest crowd we’ve ever seen for a practice session. Then we looked to see who was practicing – Roger Federer (with France’s Gael Monfils).
Even the new New York Red Bull, Thierry Henry, sat on the court watching his compatriot and the Grand Slam Champion practice. We didn’t know it was him at first because we’re not a big football fan. Obviously, we’re also a bad New Yorker!
