With all of the pink being worn in Cincinnati and Toronto, there was almost a 50-50 chance someone in pink would walk away with a trophy.
Pink ladies Victoria Azarenka and Maria Kirilenko defeated the veteran doubles team Lisa Raymond and Rennae Stubbs 7-6, 7-6 in a tight final at the Western & Southern Financial Group Women’s Open.
In just their third match together as a team, the Russian and Belarussian came back against set points to win the match in the end.
Azarenka and Kirilenko now have their first title together (Raymond and Stubbs were playing for their 34th team title).
